The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced attorney to join our General Litigation Division as an Assistant Attorney General III-IV. This position offers a competitive salary range of $7,546.87 - $10,500.00 per month, along with excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth at a dynamic state agency. Responsibilities for this position include representing state agencies and officials in lawsuits involving civil rights, employment, and other matters in both state and federal court. The successful candidate will also provide legal advice and counsel to state agencies, conduct investigations, perform legal research, and prepare complex motions, pleadings, and other legal documents. Additionally, this position may involve preparing and trying cases in court and performing moderately complex duties as lead counsel in subject areas.
Requirements for this position include a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, two years of full-time experience in civil litigation, and licensure as an attorney by the State Bar of Texas. The ideal candidate will also have exceptional academic credentials, experience in civil rights, constitutional law, employment law, education law, or healthcare law, and a proven track record of success in jury trials. Strong communication, time management, and decision-making skills are also essential for this position, as well as the ability to work well with others in a professional office environment.
